| Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}..from Blb. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wyman i/c Blb.7/WT13.11.40. B.50-LSV I spoke to Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} this morning about the above car. He said he would take another week to complete. He informed me that the cylinder block was broken, the crankshaft bent and that he had to fit new bearings and 6 new pistons. I asked him what was the cause of the failure and he thought over-revving. I can only repeat that I have not at any time exceeded 4,000 R.P.M., which according to the book of words leaves a margin of 500 R.P.M. If you wish me to do anything about 10.B.5 will you please let me know. You mentioned the loan of a small car, but as I have to visit the West Coast and Leamington Spa within the next week on a job for Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} I hope you will help me if you can, although I appreciate the difficult position you are in. I asked Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} about fitting the spare power unit which you mentioned, but understood he has had to break this down in order to provide replacements for other cars. Blb. | ||
