RR. 238 (500 Bks.) (SF 152. 6-11-18.) MP 197880 ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To Order No Customer's No. 4. was able to cause misfiring or even spark extinction at the main gap. But this could not be imitated with the Ele. disc dielectric condenser by introducing an air space between it and the earthed plate and so causing ionization; possibly because the actual capacity diminished too rapidly. A test in which a coil was placed successively in Elo, Bakelite and Stabilite cases, without linings, but with an earthed tin-foil wrapping, showed that the spark length was diminished rather more with the Elo case than the Bakelite, especially when hot, & only slightly with the Stabilite case either hot or cold.
