X1166 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Dwg.5/KW. 27th June, 1935. The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Carr. Dear Sirs, New Type Jack for Bentley Chassis. We are in receipt of your letter, together with the two blue prints M.2398 & M.2466. I have discussed the various points in question with Mr. Robotham, and we do not see why the alterations to the socket suggested should not be just as satisfactory. Will you please build up two Jacks incorporating these alterations, one Jack top to be plated, the other to be finished as you yourselves would supply them if the matter was left in your hands. The completed Jack bodies should of course be finished in black enamel. On receipt of these we will determine which finish shall be standardised. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. P.S. The Writer cannot trace the sample socket with shortened spring, enclosed in your letter of 20.6.35. However, we will await the completed Jacks and so save the bother of obtaining a further sample. P.P.S. We return herewith your blue prints M.2398 & M.2466. | ||
