| Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 18.4.40. J.Howlett,Esq., Wellworthy Pistons Ltd., Lymington, Hants. My dear Howlett, Thank you for your letter of the 15th. April. I was not really peeved about your asking me to get an axle shaft replacement free of charge, because it is quite the usual thing for Rolls Royce and Bentley owners to expect to have things which give trouble replaced even though the car is out of the guaranteed period of three years. You will appreciate, however, that payment is a question of policy and not of engineering and hence I handed the matter over to the administration with some relief. We have now been holding up the engine on which we propose to test your bearings, for several weeks and would therefore be glad if you would expedite their delivery. Yours sincerely, | ||
