THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. Limited. Sheet No......2......... Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 3/6/38 The writer mistook the word 'levers' for the word 'levels' above, and that explains the query he raised with Mr. Ratcliffe this morning. However, we note you now wish that the DC-42 carburetters shall have the level set at .750", whereas previously the level has been set at .625". We should explain that the former level of .625" has been obtained with a test head of 3'9". We understand from Mr. Ratcliffe that the new level of .75" should be obtained under a test head of 6', but it will simplify matters at this end if that head could be 8' as for the EEC-42 carburetters. We shall be glad of your comments on this point. Reverting to Mr. Fisher's report, we would inform you that lately we have had a number of DC-42 carburetters returned to us with the request, "Modify to prevent popping back", and in such cases we have fitted the revised slow running system without of course making any modification to levels or any other part of the carburetter. We shall be obliged if you will kindly make the position clear as to what is required and whether we are to continue to modify such carburetters by correcting the slow running system without modifying the level to the new requirements, or whether you wish that in conjunction to the modification to the slow | ||
