In our opinion, the features that demand urgent attention are :-

(1) Starter failures.
(2) Unreliability of slipper drive.
(3) Improvement in petrol filters.

Taking the other items mentioned in your list, the information we have is as follows :-

(1) Steering control.

A new design of steering has been standardised and when this is up in we consider that the steering will be satisfactory.

(4) Poor performance, including inefficient and booming silencer.

We do not agree with the poor performance. We do not agree that the silencer is inefficient. We should like to make it quieter, but at present we do not know how to do it.

(5) Clutch harshness and jagger.

We do not agree that this is a question of design. On the whole, the 20 HP. clutch is the most satisfactory clutch we have ever known. The complaints which occur may be due to slight errors in manufacture.

(7) Brakes squeaking and thumping.

We consider that 'India' cars are reasonably satisfactory for absence of squeaking although a means of eliminating squeaks altogether is constantly receiving our attention. As regards the brakes thumping, there is no reason why this should exist on 20 HP.

(8) Springs squeaking and digging in.

There is no reason why the 20 HP. springs should be any different to the others. Nothing is being done with regard to this.
