BOX NO. 148 SHELL-MEX HOUSE VICTORIA EMBANKMENT LONDON W.C.2 Your Reference................ Our Department.... T. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} LGC/EMM. Date 1st May, 1934. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Mr. Hives, As we have had several reports recently from Rolls-Royce owners to the effect that they have been unable to obtain AeroShell Oil at your works and Service Depots, our Sales Department have been making enquiries and report that they have been given to understand that whilst your Servicing Departments do not at present hold supplies of AeroShell Oil, they will certainly do so on receiving the necessary authority. As our lubricating oil now enjoys your approval, I am writing to ask you if you will be so kind as to help by advising your officials that small supplies of AeroShell Oil may be carried at your Service Depots for convenience of Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners who use it. Our Motor Oils Department will be very glad to make the necessary arrangements and we should very much appreciate any help you can give us. In the course of conversation with Messrs.Platford and Swift, whom I met at the A.I.D. Dinner last Friday, I gathered that you might be interested in some observations we have recently been making on the actual inlet mixture temperatures of a number of different cars in connection with our fuel research work, and if you would like to have All offers subject to acceptance by return of post unless otherwise stated. | ||
