2nd May 1940.

Messrs. Clayton Dewandre Ltd.,
Titanic Works,
Lincoln.

Dear Sirs,

FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. BLOMELEY.

Many thanks for yours of the 15th instant., together with the charts and physical table of heater results.

We observe that you are unable to proceed further than item (b) as you consider the motor supplied with the Marston R-R heater to be overloaded. We quite appreciate that this motor is rather small for the job, and we are taking steps to obtain an improved instrument. At the same time, however, these motors usually run the heater up to some 2000 r.p.m. which is our normal speed and this is the figure for which we should like results. If this motor does not attain this speed we should be glad if you would let us know, and we will send you another.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
