INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING THE TRICO RESERVAC.

The Trico RESERVAC incorporates a new principle for regulating the operation of suction windscreen wipers and provides a means for operating the wiper independent of the fluctuation of vacuum developed by the engine of the motor car.

With the RESERVAC fitted between the wiper and the induction pipe (intake manifold) the rapid operation of the wiper blade is eliminated when the engine is idling (i.e. not driving car) and the slowing down and stopping of the wiper blade is avoided when the engine is accelerated or when the car is climbing hills.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Select a convenient position for mounting the brackets of the RESERVAC. Usually ample room is available under the bonnet, where the tank may be fitted to the front of the dash or attached to the tie-rod connecting the dash and the radiator. On some cars it is more suitable to attach the RESERVAC underneath the dashboard inside the car. Wood screws are supplied for attaching the tank brackets.

2. The tank should be placed with the valve-end nearest the induction pipe (intake manifold). Most cars have a brass pipe leading from the induction pipe to the vaculiser (vacuum tank for supplying petrol). Remove the fitting at the induction pipe which connects the vaculiser tube and insert the Trico three-way tee; replace the tube fitting in the top of the tee connection. You are now ready to connect the brass tube supplied, which is inserted in the union provided and made secure in the side of the tee connection.

CAUTION The Trico union is comprised of two fittings, the compression nut and compression body. See that the tube is pressed well through the compression nut before tightening, as the nut compresses on the tube only when the tube is pressed completely into the compression body.

Where there is no fitting already at the induction pipe, choose a position on the induction pipe (intake manifold) above the throttle and drill with 11/32 drill and tap 1/8 pipe thread. Place soap or grease on the drill to prevent chips falling in. Connect the tube by using the union ( Compression nut and body ): the Trico tee connection being discarded.
