43117 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}16/KW. 29th March, 1935. Messrs. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Sessions & Co.Ltd., 906, Harrow Road, Willesden, London, N.W.10. For the attention of Mr. Sessions. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 22nd inst., and regret delay in replying. We attach herewith drawings Nos. E.83909, E.83910, E.58947 and E.59005, showing water pump drive and section of timing case on 40/50 HP. and 20/25 HP. respectively, and hope these will be useful to you in producing a suitable form of drive for your Hydraulic Jack Pump. Unfortunately we haven't a drawing showing the various clearances from timing case to fan blades etc. but no doubt you can arrange to visit one of our London Depots and obtain the various clearances from cars there. We have not enclosed any Bentley drawings because we do not anticipate fitting permanent Jacks to this chassis. With regard to the front jacking system, we would rather like a single ram fitted centrally to the front axle and so do away with the possibility of producing steering troubles. Perhaps you will let us have your views on this point. Reverting to the 20/25 HP. front jack brackets on present production, in order to drop the front jack slightly and so give more clearance between the jack casing and brake arms, will you please delete the two small location bosses on the brackets and locate directly on to the main bracket surface. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
