We acknowledge receipt of yours dated 27th instant Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}3/KW, and regret to learn that you have to report of rear bracket fracture.

We are most anxious to inspect the piece returned and to determine the nature of the failure as, frankly, we are a little surprised. Immediately the part in question arrives we will have it carefully inspected and report to you.

We had arranged for our Mechanic to visit you tomorrow - Friday - morning, but have just received your wire reading as follows:-

"NICHOLS STOP MECHANIC COMING DERBY
LETTER FOLLOWING"

and, in the circumstances, we await your further esteemed news.
