Thank you for your note. We should have thought your figure was on the low side since the weight of the Chevrolet block and crankcase, which has no valves in it, and is a smaller engine, is 142 lbs, and the weight of the Oldsmobile, which has a side valve block of the same type, is 193 lbs. Both these engines are 4-bearing. We do not know, of course, to what section they manage to work. We are writing a special note to Walker asking him to keep the average section set to .175, and are looking to him to see that the patterns are kept down to this.
