[STAMP] RECEIVED 11 JAN 1929 "D" Derby X 677 HK{Col. T. Harker - Sales}5/Dn/MS.10.1.29. Re 124EX Further to recent correspondence re the missing Touring Acquit belonging to the above car, we have again heard from Mr Hancock who confirms that he never was in possession of this document. We have therefore once more got in touch with The General Transport C° who say that their Boulogne Agent, Mr Guillain, is most categoric about the fact that the Acquit was handed over to Mr Hancock when the car left France at the end of March last. He adds that the person who was in charge of the car told him that the car would be returning to France during April, about a fortnight after its re-exportation, but as he (Mr Hancock) did not know through which port it would be coming back, he preferred to take the touring acquit away with him, so that he could get it stamped into France again when he returned in April. The loss of this document is likely to lead us into serious trouble with the French Customs, and it is therefore of the utmost importance that it should be found before the date of expiry, viz.: April 16th next. We would ask you therefore to look into this matter again very carefully and see whether the touring acquit in question has not been mislaid somewhere at the Works when the car returned there in March 1928. We wish to insist upon the urgency of this matter and away your further news with interest. HK.{Col. T. Harker - Sales} [HANDWRITTEN] As Have written G.W.H. but he can't help us.
