It was agreed some time ago that the customer had a right to expect five years' life on an average, and I think you will find the Depots are, generally speaking, acting accordingly; hence this charge of the Paris Depot (GEH-36).

We are interested to note that you consider the average life of cars of other makes than our own in the Experimental Dept. to be about a year.

I shall be interested to know what cars you are referring to as we may perhaps be able to ascertain what the average life is in the hands of private owners.
