Dear Sirs, Re Type N.2.Wire Wheels. In reply to your letter of the 17th inst., regarding the above, we enclose herewith Scheme 1365 shewing the following departures from standard, which an increase of 1" in the track will necessitate. We have found it necessary to move the 14 spokes which run from the front tyre seat to the back of the shell, now to run from the well, thus equalising the tensions in these and the front spokes. In order to accommodate the balancing device with this arrangement, the spacing of the three pairs of depressions adjoining same, can be slightly opened out. It has also been necessary slightly to modify the angular spacing of the balancing device holes relative to the valve to the new angles shewn on scheme. We note front wheels only are referred to in your letter. In the absence however, of special instructions to the contrary, we should follow our usual practice and supply all wheels, front and rear, to the same dish in order to preserve interchangeability. These proposed modifications can be embodied in the sample set now in progress in these Works, and we have held up same where necessary awaiting your instructions. Yours faithfully, For THE DUNLOP RIM & WHEEL CO. LTD. [Signature] Chief Draughtsman. Enc: Scheme 1365. | ||
