Re Phantom ll. Scuttle Isolation.

With reference to your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}15/H/29.12.30. I am sending you four side rubber buffers for the scuttle isolation. As you are aware, we do not fit any of these buffers to 20/25 HP. chassis.

It is quite likely that you may find these buffers will not fit the cars you wish to try them on, as practically every Coachbuilder makes his scuttle frame of a different thickness. Our experience here shows that the fitting of these buffers very considerably reduces the tendency of the scuttle to move.

I am not at all convinced that the harder rubber buffers which we supply have any real advantage over the soft ones. One or two Coachbuilders think that the buffers are rather too hard and are inclined to make the scuttle almost solid. Until we have had some cars out for some considerable time we cannot say if any advantages will be experienced.
