X 1263 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}4/KW.17.8.35. We are anxious to reproduce atmospheric conditions on the Bentley petrol system at altitude. Will you therefore please draw up and make one 22 SWG. sheet steel cylinder, the same dimensions as the standard air silencer. On the front end of the cylinder we require a sliding valve so that we can vary the depression on the various units. Attached is rough sketch. Will you please make this at the earliest possible moment as Bentley owners are experiencing vapour lock in the Austrian Mountain Passes, and we must determine a cure as quickly as possible.
