-2- Contd. action of the sulphuric acid, the celluloid in most present day batteries being of a particularly poor quality. He has had some experience of the De Martis battery He says that after a few discharges the positive plates become so soft that shorting occurs through the active material in the positive plates reaching through the separators and touching the negatives.
