(6) EXHAUST BOXES & PIPES BREAKING AND BENDING.
We ought to investigate this point. It would appear that the best place to do this would be with the car on the dynamometer and reproduce the road conditions by running full power for short periods and then light throttles. It is a complaint which we are bound to get sooner or later.

(7) CHANGE SPEED MECHANISM.
We want to make very sure that we have the best arrangement on the change speed mechanism and that it remains consistently good.

(8) STEERING STICKING.
We ought to thoroughly investigate this point. Although it may be overcome by oiling the pivots, the difference between cars might still be in the nut and worm. If we have an inefficient steering nut and worm, any extra friction in the pivots would immediately be shewn up. We want to have a complete record of all the cars we have of the characteristics of the steering.

(9) OILING.
As regards oiling, we ought to carry out the same tests as we have suggested for the 20 HP.

(10) PISTON KNOCKS.
We have asked Mr. Lovesey to arrange that all experimental cars are fitted with the new type pistons. We should like a record of how the cars are behaving now to compare with when the new pistons are fitted.
