Hardy 4341 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} c. Wors. B. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Dg. BMG. HDY.{William Hardy}7/HP.5.1.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Servo. N. Sch.4327 herewith shows the layout of the brake rods adjacent to the servo. Slight alteration has been made to the angular relationship between the scissors levers and their cam surfaces compared with N. Sch. 4283. The pedal rod countershaft is raised slightly in position and the levers are in different angular positions from those shown in N. Sch.4313 We make out that with the allowance for servo endwise movement that we have made of .100" between "off" and "on" when new the pedal will reach the floorboard slightly before the servo comes on to the stop. The relative sponge in the front, back and pedal sections of the layout will affectthis, of course, but we cannot say at this stage whether any allowance for unequal sponge will be necessary.
