Dear Mr. Jones,

Thank you for your letter of the 22nd.

There is no provision on our cars whereby the customer can lubricate the propeller shaft sliding joint. It is filled with grease at the Works, and will run at least 20,000 miles without attention.

About a year ago, for some time we used Mobil Grease No.2 in this joint, but found it to be too fluid for the purpose as it escaped rather easily.

We are now using a heavier grease, and are not having any trouble.
