Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Sr. is absent Levallois VA5/ET.4.7.37 Re: CHASSIS GAE.79 - Mr. Jules JADOT With further reference to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/R.28.7.37, we spoke on the telephone this morning with Mr. Jadot's secretary and he informed us that Mr. Jadot was on a voyage in Italy with his Bentley car and would not be returning to Brussels before the 15th instant. The secretary is going to write to Mr. Jadot, saying that we have telephoned on behalf of Messrs. Rolls-Royce of Derby, who had informed us that Mr. Jadot was very dissatisfied with the brakes and servo of his car and that we should like to be of assistance to him. The secretary will communicate with us as soon as he hears from Mr. Jadot. It is possible that Mr. Jadot will want us to send a mechanic to Brussels to attend to the brakes of his car. We cannot trace from our records that this customer owns a 25/30 H.P. car. Our records show that he owns chassis GAE.79, which has been in service since December 1934 and we presume it is the car to which you refer. For your information, we attach copy of a memo which we received from "C" in March 1936, viz. C2/C25.3.36 concerning the brakes of this car. We also attach copy of a memo which we received from Tr{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}/Ro.{C. C. Rose - Export Manager}, viz Tr{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}/Ro{C. C. Rose - Export Manager}23/WP.1.2.37. If we are called upon to send a mechanic to Brussels, there will be the question of who should pay, especially if the brakes need attention as the result of fair wear and tear. We do not know whether Rob. (Robinson) will be in Belgium within the next week or so. If he should be there, the least expensive way would be for him to attend to the car.
