6. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMR.1/BR.18.9.37. A scheme was also incorporated for reducing the rear braking so that the proportion of front to rear was 0.865 against 0.69 on standard Phantom III. This was a marked improvement as it reduced skidding of the rear wheels when braking heavily and also improved the stopping distance. No adverse effects were felt. Standardisation sheets for these modifications are in circulation. | ||
