" " O.{Mr Oldham} " " DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 26th February 1923 LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott}6/EBN26.2.23 Re GOSHAWK BEATONS ON ALLWEATHER BODY Your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG24.2.23 You will be interested to hear, I think, that Messrs Beatonson supplied me some weeks ago with designs of the full possibilities of their hood, the drawings of which I forwarded to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, and EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is due here on the 2nd March to go into the matter thoroughly with the C.S.C. and I hope we may be able to produce some good results. I have always personally felt that this scheme of body, if properly carried out according to our ideas, would fulfill a large requirement with regard to the 20 i.e. an open body which can be completely closed. The advantage of weight in this design is considerable. You must not judge too harshly the primary effort, as it was of purely an experimental nature, but wait further developments.
