BRAKES ADJUSTMENT.
It is possible, and I think practical, to make all six brakes on a car adjust themselves automatically, for wear and for original setting, thus -
Say back axle.
Pull lever loose on shaft, a spring holding this against axle tube, or rope tight in off position.

Spring to keep face ratchet teeth in mesh.
Brake expanding cam.
Fine ratchet wheel keyed to shaft with pre-determined slack, can move forward but not backward, pawl control.
Is it worth a patent?
Would it please Col. Rushton?
It can be arranged very neatly, and enclosed in a vaseline filled enclosing chamber. It has very few extra parts, saves some elsewhere, and always keeps levers at correct angles.
