When the two actuating shafts are 2" (centres) apart, it may be better to make a single die casting in alum-inium bronze for both bearings and the lubrication. Bolt on steel plate and push this tightly over steel tubes to enclose the shafts. Are the shafts too heavy? The deflection and stress can be worked out. Probably they could be shorter. Your drawing shews too many pieces. Can we trepan the grease retainers? We must do away with all unnecessary complication and weight.

Later I will send you my semi-automatic scheme of adjustment.

Can we use stainless or everbright steel for parts?

Ring forgings should be one instead of three, and parallel press fit, and pinned. The brake ropes need not be parallel in plan, but should have long stroke (more than present.)
