Copy to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD{Frank Dodd - Bodies} E R Y x304 E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}6/MN. 11th. February, 1936. Messrs. Park Ward & Co., 473, High Road, Willesden, London, N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re Phantom III Sedanca de Ville - 37-EX. We hope to be in a position to send you the filler head and corrugated tube for fitting into the side of the body, in the course of a few days. As soon as you receive the parts we would be glad if you would go ahead with the work immediately as the job is likely to be required in a short while. We send you herewith a print of N.Sch.4627 which shows some diagonal stays which extend between the foot of the cross in the chassis frame and the cross member at the front end of the rear springs. This replaces the single tube which was in a similar position on the Olympia Show chassis, but in order to get the stays in we have had to encroach upon the maximum permissible depth of well for the feet which we originally gave you. We would be glad if you would set these out on the full size drawing and reproduce them on the jig, in order to ascertain how much the wells for the feet in the body in question will need to be modified to accommodate this change. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. Att: N.Sch.4627. | ||
