We wish to confirm that you agree that the first experimental Phantom III with 8" longer wheelbase may be known as 38-EX. The chassis modifications have been completed. We are about to order from Messrs. Park Ward & Co. an all-steel enclosed limousine body exactly the same as 36-EX, but with the body moved forward relative to the rear axle 8". The chassis should be brought through with 'E' type steering. One spare wheel on the off-side. A 31 gallon petrol tank with filler on the side of the body. A 15 1/2° slope to the back end of the bonnet which should be fitted with shutters. We presume that the whole of the chassis will be like the first 50 production chassis except for the modifications entailed for the longer wheelbase, but should it be decided to introduce any experimental features would you kindly let us know in case they may affect the coachwork.
