RE NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I FABRIC COUPLINGS Regarding the question of slack bolts on Fabric Couplings the methods to be employed in dealing with these Couplings should be - Take a Fabric, insert bolt through bolt holes, firmly compress Fabric by tightening Bolt up solid then re-rivet plates. It should be understood that life of Fabric depends on the degree of tightness to which Fabric is compressed, if left in a spongy condition Fabric will fidget and break away from Retaining Plates. When fitting to Chassis Coupling should be treated as a solid Coupling and Driving Bolts pulled up as tightly as possible ( using a standard 7/16ths Spanner which gives 6" leverage). Care should be taken to see that Lock Plate tabs are turned up to secure Retaining Nuts. If Couplings are treated in this manner no further trouble should be experienced due to slack bolts. RHC. {R.
