WRAITH II.

Front Shock Damper.
----------------

On N.Sch.4855 herewith we show a scheme for the standard front shock damper with governor control for Wraith II.

The design in principle follows that for the Phantom III now in production, with the exception of the method of arranging the replenishing valves.

We have so arranged the damper that any modifications concerning a further replenishing valve, which may be required as a result of experiments now being conducted on Phantom III, may be added.

This drawing also shows the final and complete information for both the inner and outer suspension pots. As these pots are of RR.alloy the damper piston should be made of cast iron. The outer pot has been strengthened by means of ribs to take the blows received by the bump and rebound buffers, and the flange of the external spigot on the central forging has been increased in thickness to enable it to deal with this load.

The drawing also shows the complete particulars of front suspension lever.

We have ascertained that we can supply a design for Auto-lock dampers to suit this car as a subsequent development.
