20HP. SCUTTLE ISOLATION.

We thank you for your BY/C10/W5525.

As you will see from previous memos. we are now attempting to standardise a total isolation for the 40/50 'V' series, and in consequence of the general expressions of the C. S. C. in favour of this system, we think that on the 20HP. we should cater for total isolation, Derby supplying only the water gutter around the dashboard.

We shall however shortly attempt to standardise this and we would like the Exp. Dept. to in future embody this type of scuttle isolation on their cars so that they will be able to give us a report.

We are assuming that as soon as possible the 'D' steering on 20.HP. will have a stiffened column, and that instrument board brackets will not be supplied except in a temporary form as a support for the board until the body is fitted. Until we have the stiffer 'D' column we cannot introduce total isolation on the 20HP. We are awaiting therefore the Exp. Dept.'s report of our experiment, using the .160 outer fixed tube, and as this matter is growing somewhat serious we would be glad to receive their report.
