S.S. STARTER.
We have been urging with you a complete set of up-to-date starter equipment, i.e. in accordance with instructions now being given for production, for 21-EX. You will kno doubt be arranging for other complete sets to follow on as rapidly as possible.
We are of the opinion we should also aim at bringing chassis 19-EX and 20-EX (at present these have not got the damper scheme) right up-to-date with the new equipment. In the new equipment there is one variation in which the one or more of the systems on expl. cars will differ from that instructed for production, viz. the special pinion with extra tooth clearance. We understand two of these are instructed. It would appear to be the right thing to do to incorporate these pinions in alternate sets, as they are produced, so that the first set for 21-EX will incorporate the pinion with the extra clearance.
