25HP. - BATTERY BOX SUSPENSION.

Y5335

As we promised HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LID.{A. J. Lidsey} yesterday we are writing to confirm that R's interest in the battery box suspension, having a longitudinal member between the 3rd. and 2nd. crossmember to steady the extremity of the cantilever from the chassis side channel, has waned, and he is no longer interested in this sch.

We therefore feel that the most one need do is to fit it to one car at some date when it may be convenient, but as far as we are concerned we are assuming the use of a tubular cross member, and have indicated the use of one on 20-G-4., as shewn on our N. sch. 3328. This will not foul the coachwork provided it is 9" only in front of the centreline of the axle, as shewn on our H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} sch. 3334., which was sent to you as an alternative to the longitudinal girder scheme-N. scheme 3333. Even then we anticipated the girder scheme would not be used.
