PEREGRINE CLUTCH WITH DAMPED SPRING DRIVE.

We have gone into this matter a little further, and send three schemes herewith - N. schemes 3693/96/99., shewing some suggestions for this type pf drive.

It will be seen that there are two types of drive proposed - the central torsion shaft, and the Bibby type of plate springs.

The general isea in both cases is due to R.{Sir Henry Royce}

We have as far as possible endeavoured to use an existing clutch and crankshaft so that the experiment can be tried with the minimum of delay.

Of the alternatives shewn we think N. scheme 3699., is the one most likely to prove acceptable.
