STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Date 29.4.31.
Description of Parts. INCREASING OIL CAPACITY IN ENGINE SUMP TO 1.25 GALLONS WITH A POSSIBLE 1.5 GALLS.
Origin. To keep oil cooler.
Experimental Test Report. The advantage with extra oil in the engine sump is cooler oil and possibly lower consumption.
Road Test Report. The 10,000 miles test with 18.G.IV was run with 1.5 gallons of oil in the sump. The results were beneficial all round. There was no trouble with over-oiling.
