E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [WORT. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is struck through] LID{A. J. Lidsey} Re: J.III. X-830. We send herewith N.Sch.3458 shewing the design of a four door for Light Saloon for the second experimental J.III Chassis, 2 J.III, and a copy of the body specification (to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) This is one of our most popular sellers and the design shewn has been developed from the Park Ward Standardised Saloon, but the advantages of the J.III Chassis have been made use of, to reduce the overall height of the car and at the same time to increase the headroom over the rear seat, and the thickness and width of the rear cushion. We have asked that work be put in hand at once, subject to an official order from Sales, and that the body be ready for Derby to collect on May 11th 1932. The chassis should be prepared for 'E' Type Steering and should have untarnishable finish throughout. Will Derby please despatch a pair of wheel arches to Messrs. Park Ward & Co, Willesden. Please send us two extra prints of N.Sch.3458. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
