To R.{Sir Henry Royce} To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} } FROM HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5260 [Handwritten, crossed out] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG18.11.26. X8140 [Handwritten] X8080 [Handwritten, crossed out] PHANTOM THROTTLE CONTROL. 8-EX car which Dodd is bringing to WW. is fitted with roller bearings on the butterfly throttle. We have also fitted ball bearings to the governor shaft (print of which is attached). We are very pleased indeed with the governor control on 8-EX. Tests shew that it is now equally as good as the Silver Ghost. We attach curve shewing the comparative lag with a standard Phantom. The throttle control on the Phantom is the only feature on the car which is not up to the Silver Ghost standard. We recommend we standardise this improvement at once. Standardisation sheet enclosed. 20 HP. BONNET LOUVRES. X5260 [Handwritten] We are sending a sample bonnet which on one side is fitted with the present standard fine pitch louvres, and on the other side has the louvres reduced in height. Sales wish us to standardise the reduced height of louvres. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
