Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Exptl. Dept. Derby. Dear Sirs, We beg to thank you for your letter of the 8th inst., and note that you have been continuing with tests on the 40/50 h.p. unit to K-S.162. We agree that the position of the top cup could with advantage be investigated. Assuming that the top portion of the tank, beyond the 20 gallon level on the calibration shown on K-S.162, together with the high side filler, contains about a gallon, the petrol in the tank would then be standing at the 20 gallon level when the car had run approximately 13 miles; at the 19 gallon level at 26 miles, and at the 18 gallon level after it had run 39 miles. At or about this point, with the cup so placed, | ||
