Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Derby. C. to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Derby E.P. Whr.{Mr Wheeler} London. X.3908 Pt.2/FM-27/4/28. Several times lately we have had complaints of a strong smell of petrol inside cars having closed bodies. This is quite a distinct smell from what is usually associated with exhaust, being a fuel smell purely and simply. I believe that this smell is caused by the vacuum tank getting too hot (I am referring of course to the N.P. models) and should be glad to know whether you have experienced the same trouble at home, and if so what steps have been taken to ameliorate this nuisance. I know that you have had trouble with the effect of the heated petrol upon carburation. Pt. | ||
