For the attention of Mr. Ratcliffe

Dear Sirs,

DC-42 30 h.p. Carburetters

In reference to your letter of the 30th ult., and further to our letter of the 5th inst., we have now had an opportunity of discussing this matter with our Mr. Fisher.

It would appear that the damage of which you complain has only occurred very very rarely and although it has been suggested that a larger poppet valve might get over the trouble, yet we do not think that such expedient should be adopted without experiment being made to see whether such modification would be effective.

Should a larger poppet valve not cure the trouble, then it would seem necessary to increase the thickness of the strangler plate and that would mean increasing also the diameter of the strangler spindle and possibly making adjustments in other directions consequent upon the above modifications.

Perhaps you will kindly give the matter your further consideration.

Yours faithfully,
THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. LTD.
