From LA.{L. A. Archer} To H.S. F.{Mr Friese} 2. TORSIONALLY FLEXIBLE COUPLING. Herewith we send S. schs. 3572/3., showing alternate proposals for the above. These have been in a partly finished state for some time, and we now take the opportunity to get them off. We think that the rubber coupling shown on N. sch. 3572. should be tried, as it appears to be the better mechanically, and likely to give longer service, but in case for any reason it should not be perfect we have indicated on N. sch. 3573. how a fabric coupling of the present type, but 6.5" diameter instead of 7", can be got in. It will be seen that it necessitates modification to the clutch brake, and as regards the latter, we understand that in spite of the synchro mesh gearbox you have found it necessary. If it could be dispensed with the matter becomes simpler still. LA.{L. A. Archer} | ||
