1227 - March 9th.1938 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/AP. Messrs Shell-Mex & B.P. Ltd., Victoria Embankment, LONDON W.C.2. For the attention of L.G. Callingham Esq. Dear Sirs, Some of the Oil Companies have caused us a lot of inconvenience lately by altering the viscosities of their oils and keeping the same name. This means, of course, that our Instruction Books for old cars recommend an unsuitable oil. Most of the Oil Companies are about to label the cans of their oil not only with the name but also with the S.A.E. viscosity number. In our Instruction Books we are proposing to mention the present oil manufacturers and suitable viscosity numbers for Summer or Winter. We hope this meets with your agreement. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
