X1729 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}1/MJ.7.10.30. 7th. Oct.,1930. Messrs. Lendrum & Hartman,Ltd., Buick House, 26b. & c, Albemarle St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, LONDON.W.1. For the attention of MR. E.T.Cuthbert. Dear Sirs, Very many thanks for your letter of the 4th.inst. There was one point in connection with the car which I rather wanted to confirm, and that was the weight of the complete car. You will recollect that you gave me a figure of three tons for the car empty and if this is correct it would perhaps explain why the acceleration of the car was not so vigorous as one might expect from the power output. I am very much indebted to you for the interesting trial run you gave me. One feature against the car is its price, which compared rather unfavourably with that of the Maybach, which can be sold over here at £2,200 complete with seven seater limousine body. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
