1204 G.27/W. M/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}4/MM. 15.1.40. To RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1. We recently had a visit from an agent of "The Sharples" Oil Centrifuging System, and enclosed is a pamphlet showing it's installation at Leylands. The said agent also states that it is installed at Bristol's and would be obliged if you could obtain any information as to it's value. 2. Before leaving Derby Mr. Worth of British Filters stated that he would arrange with you regarding a visit to Crewe to have a look at the filter installation on the beds. If he has been he can probably state whether he is in a position to quote against Vokes. The first 8 beds are completely ordered, however we shall shortly be ordering for the last 16 beds. 3. Will shortly be coming to Derby for several days, and no doubt you will have some questions for me regarding the cylinder head department. If at any time you think I might be able to answer some query, I shall be only too pleased to do so. 4. The job here is progressing fairly well though naturally not so fast as we would like, however, find the work very interesting. We have been very fortunate in respect of the staff for the test department and have acquired the services of two excellent fellows Read and Peach, who were with Clyde Autos (R.R. Section), both having been through the Aero Instruiction School at Derby. M/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
