X.4383 - To EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T19.1.23. X.4383 - OUTPUT OF GOSHAWK DYNAMO. In accordance with our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T18.1.23 (copy to you) in which the minimum peak output of the Goshawk dynamo, after running for 20 minutes on the bench, has been increased from 10 to 12 amperes, it will now be in order to circularise your outside men that if the peak of dynamo output with the dynamo in a fully hot condition is less than 10½ amperes, i.e. reading of ammeter is less than 8½ amperes (allowing 2 amperes for the ignition) this being at a road speed of 20/1 m.p.h., that the control brush may be retarded, i.e. moved in the direction of rotation, until such output is secured. It is considered that it should be quite possible to secure this with the range of motion allowed for the control brush. Care should be taken that the control brush beds down properly in the new position. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} | ||
