PORTLAND STREET TELEPHONE: FITZROY 1014 TELEGRAMS: ENOTSTONE, WESDO. LONDON Dear Sirs, We thank you for your kind letter of the 10th inst., marked for the writer's attention, from which we are pleased to note that the "Enots" Lubricator F.77765 for the Mechanics Joint is O.K. Regarding the screwed fitting which holds the spring in, we should have pointed out that this was left loose so that the nipple could be taken to pieces and examined, but our usual practice is to tap down a given distance, screw a bottom fitting in tightly, and spin over the end of the screwed portion of the nipple, which makes it impossible for same to come loose. With reference to the filter housings, we cannot understand why these in some cases are not oil-tight, as we tested all these fittings prior to despatch and they were absolutely sound. However, perhaps you will carefully examine these and see if any foreign matter has remained on the seating, as we do not think the celluloid disc can move sufficiently to give an unequal bearing. Yours faithfully, BENTON & STONE LTD., Director. | ||
