BONDING CLIPS ON ARMOURED CABLES
ON F.{Mr Friese} ENGINES.

We would like to draw your attention to the unsatisfactory bonding wire clip at the sparking plug end of the H.T. cable.

The A.M. piece numbers are :-
TAGS.T1537.
TAGS.T1513.
TAGS.T1512 (EE1291).

The clip clips over a ferrule and we find that after the sparking plugs have been removed or the H.T. leads have been removed from the plugs, these clips become very loose and we have had a case where the clips have slipped off the ferrules.

We suggest that there should be an additional flange to prevent the clip sliding also the clip should be made stiffer so as to grip the ferrule when tightened up, in its present state the clip stretches when the bolt is tightened.

We have taken the matter up with BY/EL. but as it is an A.M. fitting and specification they are powerless to move until they receive A.M. sanction via A.I.D.
