Dear Mr.Taub,

We are having the usual struggle with the oil Companies about oil nomenclatures as we are proposing in future instruction books to mention viscosities of oils and not their trade names. Last year you got out specifications for the oils called "Vis. so and so" which, I believe, were to finer limits than SAE numbers. Both the Vacuum and the Shell Oil companies say that their oils conform to your specification.

Could you please send particulars of what your specification was so that we can decide whether to use this, and find out whether we can persuade all the oil companies to work to it.

Yours sincerely,
