EXPLOSION IN SILENCER. X8230

Attached herewith are reports on this fault.

The conclusions are :-

(1) Owing to design features the Phantom is slightly worse than the Silver Ghost for this complaint.

(2) The throttle control in the Phantom is more difficult to adjust and is more likely to deteriorate with use.

(3) We feel convinced that in most cases where this fault is complained of itw will be found due to the fact that the best is not being made of the present scheme.

(4) The modifications to the design proposed will reduce the trouble, but we know of no practicable way of overcoming it.

We have asked that we shall have an opportunity of examining any car which is particularly bad for this fault.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
