To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson} +300 c. to Ror. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson}5/KW.28.2.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Ground Clearance. We are still somewhat concerned about the ground clearance of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III tray. As at present arranged this, with the modifications which have been made and with the larger wheels, only amounts to about 4½" on maximum bump. Both the Cadillac and the Buick under similar conditions have more than 7" ground clearance. When we use the higher rating front springs with which we are at present obtaining a considerable amount of success, we can cut the bump down to 3", but we still require the maximum amount of rebound. Cutting down the bump does mean that we can pick up some ground clearance here, but we should be glad to know that something is being done to improve this feature, and how much you consider you will be able to raise this point.
